The word physics is come from Greek word physicos which mean is knowledge of nature
Introduction of physics
One of the most basic and ancient science is the physics. The word science refers to the study of a fact by collecting information through observation, presenting it in a mathematical way justifying the idea with the experiment and finally making a conclusion about the fact. Thus physics can be defined as “physics is the branch of science which observe the nature represent it mathematically and conclude with the experiment”
It basically deals with the behavior and structure of matter and the energy that derives the matter. Physics is the branch of natural science that studies matter, its motion, its behavior through space and time and the related entities of energy and force. Physics is one of the most fundamental scientific disciplines, and its main goal is to understand how the universe behaves.
Branches of physics
From ancient the role of physics played important role in society so the scientist divides the physics in various branches for easy to illuminate our mind. Physics is very large so it has a lot of branches. So some important branches of physics are as follow
Mechanics
Mechanics is the study of laws of motion and gravitation and their relation to matter. Mechanics have two main branches one is kinematics and other is dynamics
Thermodynamics
Thermodynamics is the study of heat and temperature and their relation to energy and work. Thermodynamics also defined as thermodynamics is the study of the effects of work, heat and energy on a system. Thermodynamics is only concerned with large scale observation.
The law of thermodynamics
Zeroth law: thermodynamic equilibrium and temperature
First law: work, heat and energy
Second law: entropy
Astro physics
Astro physics is the study of celestial object with the help laws of physics. Astro physics also defined as the physics in universe, including the universe and interaction of celestial bodies in astronomy
Electricity
A form of energy resulting from the existence of charged particles such as electrons or protons.
Magnetism
In terms of application, magnetism is one of the most important fields in physics.
Particle physics
Particle physics is concerned with fundamental particles, which means that the particles can’t be broken down in further
Nuclear physics
Nuclear physics is the study of physics that studies the building block and interaction of atomic nuclei
Atomic physics
Atomic physics is the composition, structure, properties and structure of the atom
Major importance of physics in society
1) 1)Physics has the capability of playing major roles in finding solution on the ongoing tragedies throughout the developing the world that are directly tied to disease, poverty and the degradation of environment that face the human race
2) 2)Physics expand the frontiers of our knowledge about nature
3) 3)Physics enhance our understanding of other disciplines
4) 4)Physics extends and enhances our understanding of other disciplines, such as the earth, agricultural, chemical, biological and environmental science, plus astrophysics and cosmology subjects of substantial importance to all peoples of the world
Thanks
