Multan

Multan is the is the important city of Punjab. According to the population it is the fifth biggest city of the Pakistan.

Name of Multan

Once upon a time here was a nation came and settled here whose name was Mali. to settle is called in Sanskrit as Sthan (place). Thus his name became mali sthan and day by day it name changed mali taan then maliitan and now Multan

History of Multan

If we talk about the history of Multan so in 327.B.C after the conquered of the Jhelum and Gujarat. The army of the Alexander did not want to proceed due to their jadedness. But Alexander ordered them to preceded and he greeded them of money and he gave them hope to capture the fertile land. His army came towards Multan. Here Maloi nations were inhabited whose stories of valor were famous. When the army of Alexander attacked on Multan so they also fought hard during this the Alexander injureded by the arrow the arrow injured his backbone. After many tries the philosopher could not out this arrow from Alexander  backbone but they cut the some part of arrow. After some day they conquered the Multan and took revenge of their king by the nation of Multan . If we talk about the Islamic history so firstly Multan was conquered by the Muhammad bin Qasim in 712.A.D and the kept of the base of the Islamic empire. After Muhammad bin Qasim in 997.A.D Mahmud Ghaznavi  conquered the Hindustan as well as the Multan and included it in his empire in 571 hijra (1175.A.D) Sultan Shahabuddin defeated the regal country and conquered the Multan. After that many agnation conquered the Multan Such as Slave family, Khilji family, Tughlaq family, Sadat family, Lodhi family and then Mughal Empire. Yet there was the rule of Islam in Multan. I 1857 after the war of freedom the British completely capture the Multan and till 1947 it was in the control of British Empire. After freedom it became the part of Pakistan.

The Multan city is called as the city of the Saints and Sufis because here are a lot of tombs of Saints and Sufis.

Hazrat Syedna Yusuf Shah Gardezi, Hazrat Shah Shams Tabriz (RA), Hazrat Bahawal Haq (RA), Bibi Naik Daman (RA), Hazrat Bahauddin Zakaria Multani (RA), Hazrat Shah Rakn Alam (RA), Hazrat Munshi Ghulam Hassan Shaheed Multani (RA), Hazrat Musa Shrines of Pak Shaheed (RA), Hazrat Syed Ahmad Saeed Kazmi (RA), Hazrat Hafiz Muhammad Jamal (RA), Hazrat Baba Piran Ghaib (RA) and many saints are here.

Pak gate 

This name Pak gate is name for here is a tomb of the great Sheikh Syed Abul Hasab Musa Pak Shaheed, who was the son of Syed Hamid Bakhsh Gilani.
